First look at big changes to Queensland icon

"Once famed for its parfaits and photo opportunities, the Big Pineapple is a step closer to rekindling its national tourist drawcard status with the launch of a new treetop ropes course. It is the first of the new tourist experiences to be launched under a major revamp of the once hugely popular Sunshine Coast symbol that is tipped to pump $90 million into the local economy and create 800 construction jobs. The $150 million masterplan will modernise the “big things” stop-off that drew a million visitors a year when at its most popular in the late 1980s – making it the nation’s top tourist attraction."
